DCLT's Rental Hardship Fund
At DCLT, we are facing some of our greatest challenges as we struggle to determine how best to be supportive of our residents AND maintain our organizational stability.
In an effort to be proactive, in this time, we have established a Rental Hardship Fund that will help offset rental payment and unpaid ground lease fees for a segment of our residents and homeowners who have lost their jobs, or are experiencing a dramatic reduction in work hours due to COVID-19.
Our resident outreach, thus far, indicates approximately 30% of DCLT rental tenants will not be able to pay rent in the month of April as a result of COVID-19 wage losses.
Our ability to collect rent is DCLT’s greatest source of operating income, comprising 70% of projected revenues. This is income that supports salaries, benefits, maintenance expenses, loan payments, etc. Please help if you can!
Thank you so much for your support of permanently affordable rental housing in Durham.
